Daniel Craig is Back as Bond

It's looking now like it's a pretty sure thing that Daniel Craig is set to return in the 25th Bond installment. This may come as a bit of a surprise since he was pretty outspoken about how exhausted he was when Spectre came out, saying he would rather slit his wrists then play the character again. That left many of us wondering what it meant for the future of the Bond franchise. Idris Elba and Tom Hardy were both very popular picks amongst fans.

Through all that talk about who was going to be the next Bond, the studio was very adamant about their desire to keep Daniel Craig as Bond. Various reports made it seem like they'd be willing to do a lot and throw down a lot of cash to get him back. Through all the news, the possibility of Daniel Craig returning still remained.

So...is this a good decision for both Craig and the studio? Well, for Craig I think it definitely is. James Bond is the role that gave him the fame he has today and he'll probably get a pretty good pay day out of it. Some people may argue that they'd rather see him "spread his wings" and dive into some other roles. He probably wants that too. However, I think he can still do that. He even has a new film Logan Lucky(which looks great) coming out later this summer.

As for the studio, I think it's also a major score. Other actors like Elba or Hardy could have been amazing but Craig really embodies Bond and is, I think, one of the best and most layered 007's we've ever gotten. When he first popped up, he didn't scream your typical suave secret agent. As soon as Casino Royale hit the screen, he diverted all expectations and hit it out of the park. That being said, he did say he'd rather slit his wrists than return to the franchise. The way I see it, is we all say stupid things in the moment. All the stuff behind the scenes is probably a pain in the ass a lot of the time. It's draining. He just needed some time to sit back, relax, and think about it. I think he's re-energized and will deliver a great performance. As for how good the movie is, we'll just have to wait and see.
